The 2010 Season Comes to an End!

We had pageantry, we heard the Clemson University football announcer yell, “Stand up and cheer for the most exciting 15 seconds in college football,” and then the game started. It was a sad season for Clemson Tiger football fans. All we lacked was a team that would give us a good football season! No ranking, and no playoffs. Somehow the Tigers did manage to squeeze out a bowl bid with their 6-6 record. They will be playing against the South Florida Bulls in the Meineke Bowl. We won’t be able to attend, but we hope they win. Go Tigers!

We did take advantage of a brief break from the fall football season in November to spend a long weekend with our Ocala Florida friends, Curt and Cathy, in the North Carolina mountains. The leaves were just past peak color, but the beauty of traveling the mountains in the fall was still amazing. We stayed at Mountain Stream just north of Marion near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The weather was more than accommodating for beautiful daily drives to Fred’s Mercantile in Beech Mountain, Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, The Daniel Boone Inn in Boone, shops in Black Mountain, Montreat College in Montreat, and (of course) a little shopping at a mall in Asheville. Snow had cleared out of the mountains just before our arrival, and rain arrived just after our departure.

Our motorcoach has just finished its major annual checkup and is being winterized as I write this blog. It is time to put the big horse in the stable for the winter. We can hardly wait until spring to hit the road again. We’re not sure where the road will take us in 2011, but we know the journey will be fun.

We will have a new family addition traveling with us this coming year.
He is appropriately named “Camper.”
He is a beautiful European Cream (white) Golden Retriever puppy. Camper’s main duty will be to entertain Brewster, our little Yorkiepoo designer dog. Camper will come home with us on December 23rd. We couldn’t ask for a better Christmas present. Could life get any better than this?

Anna and I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas with loved ones. May God bless each and everyone of you in the new year ahead.
