About Us

Anna and Jack on Prince Edward Island, Canada

We are Jack and Anna Fanning, and want to welcome you to our web site and blog.  We are fortunate to be each other’s best friend, and can’t imagine life any other way. We have a Christ-centered marriage, and we are blessed with a wonderful family. Our two daughters and our son are married, and have blessed us with four grandchildren.  We have a European Cream Golden Retriever (Camper). He has become our empty nest child and he is very good at keeping us hopping.

We began sharing our dream of traveling across America soon after we married. Since neither of us cared for commercial air travel or sleeping in hotels, we needed an alternative mode of transportation and lodging. Jack enjoyed tent camping when he was young, and Anna had always wanted to experience travel as her mother had – visiting National Parks around the country in a camper.  RV travel was destined to be our travel mode of choice.  One of our daughters refers to our method of roughing it as “Paris Hilton Camping.”

The RVing waters seemed ready for testing soon after Jack took an early retirement.  The empty nest suddenly appeared, and Anna’s schedule as a teacher allowed extended spring and fall breaks along with our summers screaming “travel.”  After attending several RV shows, and studying what seemed like hundreds of articles about the RV lifestyle, we purchased our first motorhome in 2007 (a 40’Discovery).  Our second motorhome was a 2012 42′ Tiffin Phaeton.  It was a beautiful home on wheels, but we sold it in 2016, and decided to downsize.  We now own a 25′ Leisure Travel Van Unity 24MB.

Now that we are both retired, the dream of traveling extensively in the motorhome is a reality.  We both enjoy the relaxed lifestyle and the opportunities we have to see our country and meet some of the friendliest people ever.  Hitting the road is exciting, and being able to land safely back in Clemson is a blessing!

Someday we hope to say that we have visited all 50 of our states, and (for a little icing on the cake) all the Canadian Provinces. We hope that you will enjoy traveling with us as we share our experience through our website and blog.

If you enjoy our blogs and would like to receive them in the future, drop us a note at jackanna98@gmail.com.  Let us know a little bit about you and we will start sending future blogs your way.

As always, we hope to see you down the road!
