When growing up in south Florida, I thought I would always live in the Sunshine State, but my career brought me to North Carolina in the mid-seventies. I met my beautiful wife, Anna, while living in North Carolina. We enjoyed many activities nearby in Clemson, South Carolina, at and around Clemson University. This made our decision to move from North Carolina and retire near Clemson University in 2014 an easy one.

I began playing drums as a youngster, and until 2010 played in numerous bands of various genres. These days I am the old guy you see playing dashboard drums while driving my car down the city streets. I also have my pilot’s license and previously flew both single engine airplanes and sailplanes (gliders). I no longer pilot aircraft, but I still love the experience and the freedom that I felt when soaring above the earth in a sailplane.

I now experience that freedom through travel and photography when exploring the United States and Canada in our motorhome. I love photography of all types – particularly travel, wildlife, and nature photography, and I always have a great time whenever I am able to go on a photo shoot. I also enjoy being a member of the Carolinas Nature Photographer’s Association, and the Clemson Photo Club. I am a United States Air Force Veteran, former sworn law enforcement officer, fraud examiner, and certified forensic interviewer. I have a BBA from Montreat College, and I retired in 2002 from my career as a corporate security manager when I accepted an early retirement offer.

I enjoy traveling in our motorhome with Anna, and love spending quality time with her now that she has retired from teaching. I also enjoy the fall football season at  Clemson University, to watch our three-time NCAA National Football Championship Clemson Tigers with family and friends! The friends we’ve met during our travels and the sites we’ve seen during our RV adventures, are both memorable and treasured. Our three children and six grandchildren are like icing on the cake of life. There is nothing more precious to me than our family. I am extremely blessed.
