The Road is Calling – We will soon return to our travel adventures!

If you are one of our email and blog recipients who actually opens our emails and reads our blog, you might have noticed that our summer travel blog has become somewhat stagnant for quite some time. The summer of 2013 was our last year of significant travel.

Anna and I knew for some time that we would sell our home in NC and move to Clemson.  The decision to leave our church and great neighbors in Gastonia, NC was difficult, but we enthusiastically looked ahead  to a community near Clemson University to make our future home.  We lived in our Tiffin motorhome while waiting for construction on our new home to be completed.  We struggled through the downsizing process, giving belongings to our children, church, charity and others. On November 1, 2014, the process rapidly accelerated when we received a telephone call notifying us that we had lost most of our possessions in a massive storage facility fire fully engulfing 47 storage units.

Our construction process eventually ended and we moved into our home in January, 2015.  Knowing we had an all-consuming task of negotiating and settling insurance claims ahead, we made the decision to sell our Tiffin motor home and halt our traveling expeditions until we had our feet firmly planted again.  Living in Clemson has exceeded all of our expectations.  Life in this college town has provided us a new vibrance for life, an abundance of friends, and more activities than we can possibly take part in.

The decision to resume our RV travels was reached in August, 2016 when we purchased our third motor home, a 2017 Leisure Travel Van Unity 24MB.  We took delivery in April, 2017, and will begin traveling again this year (2017).  We look forward to keeping up with our family and friends as we make our way around our beautiful country, and Canada in the near future.

As always, we hope to see you down the road.
